I paint “in series” on themes of passionate interest:
1) “RIDE FOR LIFE” - Last June, my husband & I rode in the Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer and what an inspirational experience! My current “Ride for Life” series is dedicated to portraying this ride through this iconic landscape of Alberta. See recent article in Leap Magazine: http://myleapmagazine.ca/2011/03/my-leap-3/
2) PRAIRIE & FOOTHILLS - Calgary is nestled between the prairie & Rocky Mountain foothills. I am intrigued with the colour, light & texture of the prairie & foothills landscapes.
3) LAKE – These lakescapes are the result of a 2009 Emma Lake Artist Workshop, a historic & prestigious retreat for professional artists…all works were created with a palette knife & inspired by the light, reflections & textures of the lake environs.
4) PILGRIMAGE - In March 2010, my solo exhibit “Pilgrimage” depicted my journey to a World Unesco Heritage Site & monastery off the coast of Ireland in 2008.
5) LANDSCAPE ABSTRACTIONS – In my artwork there is a constant interplay between reality and abstraction…
